Terms of Use
Last updated: July 2, 2026
1. What StateTakeHome is
StateTakeHome (“we”, “the site”) provides free, informational calculators and datasets about take-home pay and taxes. By using the site you accept these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
2. Not tax, legal or financial advice
All results are estimates for informational purposes only. They approximate withholding using published rates and reasonable assumptions; your actual pay depends on your W-4/TD1 elections, local taxes, benefits and other factors. Nothing on this site constitutes tax, legal, accounting or financial advice, and no professional-client relationship is created. Always confirm decisions with a licensed professional. See our methodology for how figures are sourced.
3. Accuracy — best effort, no warranty
We verify rates against official publications and label their tax-year vintage, and we fix verified errors fast. Still, tax law changes and mistakes are possible: the site is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose or availability.
4. Intellectual property & open data
The site's content, design and code are © StateTakeHome, all rights reserved, except where stated otherwise. Our published datasets are open data: where a dataset is marked CC BY 4.0, you may reuse and republish it — including commercially — with attribution (“Source: StateTakeHome.com” with a link). Citing individual figures from our pages with a link is always welcome.
5. Embeds & widgets
Where we provide embeddable calculators or badges, you may embed them on your site free of charge, provided you (a) keep the attribution link intact and unmodified, (b) do not present the tool as your own, and (c) do not embed it in unlawful, deceptive or spam contexts. We may revoke embed permission for misuse.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to disrupt the site, attempt unauthorized access, or scrape at a volume that degrades service. Automated access to our machine-readable layers (/ai/, published datasets) is permitted at reasonable rates with attribution.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, StateTakeHome shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for decisions made in reliance on the site's estimates. Your sole remedy for dissatisfaction is to stop using the site.
8. Third-party links
Links to official sources (IRS, SSA, state DORs, CRA) and other third parties are provided for convenience; we are not responsible for their content.
9. Changes & contact
We may update these terms; the date above reflects the latest version. Continued use after changes means acceptance. Questions: contact page.
